About the Farm – Starting Point Equestrian, LLC
Pittsboro, NC
The farm is 10 rolling acres with;
- a large outdoor sand arena with a grass track around it,
- bridle paths between the pastures,
- HVAC’d bathroom
- and a fully enclosed indoor riding arena for year-round lessons.
Owner & Riding Instructor
Kaye Handlon (previously “Barnes”) started her first lesson academy business in the late 90s as “Barnes Paddock”. In 2007 the business rebranded as “Starting Point Stables” (located in Angier, NC from 2001-2019) and rebranded again in 2019 as “Starting Point Equestrian, LLC” (located in Pittsboro, NC from 2019- present).
Aside from being involved with the horses, Kaye has been a part-time website developer since the early 2000’s.
Farm Owner
Brian Handlon – started riding in the early 2000s. Though he still rides (mostly the tractor mowing the farm) he is currently consumed with his career as a Major in the Army National Guard (active duty) and working in the North Carolina Counterdrug Support Program.
